Driver CPC training explained

Driver CPC Training Requirements

Training Duration

To maintain your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for operating a lorry, bus, or coach, you must complete 35 hours of periodic training every five years.

Failure to comply with this requirement can result in a fine of up to £1,000 if you are caught driving professionally without a valid Driver CPC.

You can check your completed training hours within the current five-year cycle.

If you drive both lorries and buses professionally, you only need to complete one set of training every five years.

Please note that the process may differ if you are based in Northern Ireland.
